When I was in high school, two very quick healings—one of a wart on my hand, the other of mumps —were my introduction to Christian Science healing. These were brought about through the work of my mother, who was at the time beginning to study this Science.
Some time later, when I had entered the business world, I was healed of a painful nervous ailment and of a disturbing intestinal condition, both of which had plagued me for many months. These healings resulted from the work of a loving neighbor, who was a Christian Science practitioner and who let her light shine by generously sharing her understanding with our family.
Then the way opened for me to go to college, something that had seemed impossible before. Here I began to study Christian Science myself, and during these years I had many proofs of God's loving care in working out the many problems of campus life. One of these was a healing of intellectualism and fear.
