FREEING OUR CHILDREN
There is no privilege so cherished by a parent as witnessing his child's unfoldment day by day, an unfoldment which is marked by the fresh clarity and confidence of a child's unfettered thinking. His freedom from misconceptions about man and the universe is perhaps the child's greatest advantage and is the basis of the clear understanding and direct thought so characteristic of children.
Mary Baker Eddy tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 236), "Jesus loved little children because of their freedom from wrong and their receptiveness of right." It is the parent's duty to provide a healthy atmosphere in which a child can develop and utilize the qualities which in reality he already has as God's reflection.
Christ Jesus explained the spiritual basis of his own demonstrations when he said to Nicodemus (John 3:3), "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
