USING THE TRUTH
[Of Special Interest to Children]
Jane lives in the country where there are not many children to play with. So she looked forward eagerly to her first day in school. She thought it would be fun to have playmates.
When the first day of school arrived, Jane wore a pretty new dress her mother had made for her. Her little brother, Danny, and her mother walked with her down to the road where she was to get onto the school bus. She waved happily to them from the window as the bus drove away. And when she came home, she had many things to tell them.
But on the second day when Jane came home in the late afternoon, she did not look at all happy, and her mother soon learned the reason. "I was all alone on the playground," Jane said mournfully. "None of the children asked me to play with them."
