At a time when life seemed to...
At a time when life seemed to have little meaning I was introduced to Christian Science by a dear friend who had been healed by it. He told me he was sure I could be healed also.
At that time I was suffering from a severe nervous breakdown. I had spent much money and time going to doctors; but instead I now called on a Christian Science practitioner, and I shall never forget this first visit. I was so uplifted and encouraged that I knew this was what I had been searching for.
The practitioner brought out to me very clearly the importance of obedience to God, and she requested that I study daily the Bible Lessons from the Christian Science Quarterly. This I did, as well as looking up references to the word "obedience.'" I regularly attended services in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and also every lecture within miles of our town. "The scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468) was a great help to me, particularly the first two sentences which read: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." Through radical reliance on Christian Science I was completely healed of this nervous condition.
