UNLIMITED INTELLIGENCE

Humanity's greatest asset is intelligence; but to increase this valuable asset, one needs to understand what it is, where it originates, and how to demonstrate it in its unlimited possibilities. According to Christian Science, intelligence is not only the primal quality of God, divine Mind; it is God. Mary Baker Eddy gives us this definition in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 588): "Intelligence. Substance; self-existent and eternal Mind; that which is never unconscious nor limited."

Every whit of genuine intelligence that one observes in himself or in others hints that man is God's likeness, the expression of the one infinite intelligence, or Mind. For Mind is manifested through its idea, man, and is inseparable from the intelligence which man embodies. To understand this relationship is essential to one's expressing more of the fundamental quality of intelligence, which bestows all power, which is found everywhere, and which knows all that can be known.

The scientific knowledge that there is but one intelligence and that man reflects it in its infinity corrects the limiting belief of mankind that this important quality can be divided into many minds and can range from near imbecility to brilliance. Human beings experience what they believe; hence as long as they believe in limited intelligence they will fail to break the mental thongs that bind them in a state of self-inflicted restrictions. Suffering, quarreling, misjudging, poverty, sin, and death evidence lack of intelligence, but these disappear when intelligence is demonstrated as a quality of man. The putting off of human restrictions through Science calls for diligence and watchful consecration to the truth.
