PRACTICING GOD'S QUALITIES BRINGS HEALING

Many years ago Paganini performed his concerts on a Guarnerius violin which was famous for its beautiful range of tonal qualities. In his will he made the provision that this Guarnerius be "perpetually conserved" by Genoa, the city of his birth. The violin is sealed in a glass case and is on view in the municipal museum.

Over one hundred years later a famous visiting artist, after giving his violin recital in Genoa, was invited to play upon this Guarnerius violin. It was removed from its ease and restrung. When the artist began to play, to the astonishment of all, the violin had lost its beautiful tonal qualities. However, the violinist said that these qualities were not permanently lost but could be completely restored if one daily practiced on the violin.

One who has, in supposition, locked himself up in a "case" of material sense, or the belief of mind in matter, may find a helpful point in the account of the violin.
