UNERRING INTELLIGENCE AVAILABLE TO ALL

For a number of years mankind has denoted by an intelligence quotient an individual's capacity to think. This quotient is derived from material tests, which show one's mental maturity or immaturity and which are based on the false belief that brain is the seat of intelligence. As a result, many persons have accepted the conclusion that their capacities for accomplishment are limited.

In Christian Science, it is understood that the divine Mind, God, who is infinite Spirit, is the source of all true intelligence. Therefore intelligence is spiritual, not material; and man, being in reality God's own spiritual idea, living in all-inclusive Mind, reflects and expresses divine intelligence always.

In the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy asks the question (p. 469), "What is intelligence?" She then gives this answer: "Intelligence is omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence. It is the primal and eternal quality of infinite Mind, of the triune Principle,—Life, Truth, and Love,— named God."
