COMPLETENESS

The various phases of the moon may sometimes cause a child to believe that part of the moon is missing. The science of astronomy has explained this illusion so that regardless of appearances the child can be assured that the moon is complete at all times.

Mortal mind, in its various phases, presents its concept of man as incomplete, but Christian Science explains away this illusion and brings the assurance that man in God's likeness is eternally complete. Paul wrote in his epistle to the Colossians (2:10), "Ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power."

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" under the marginal heading "Self-completeness," Mary Baker Eddy writes (p. 264), "When we realize that Life is Spirit, never in nor of matter, this understanding will expand into self-completeness, finding all in God, good, and needing no other consciousness."
