Many years ago my testimony was published in the Sentinel, but I have had so many other wonderful proofs of God's care that I feel it is time to express my gratitude again. For a long time I was resentful of the kind friend who introduced me to Christian Science, because I felt that she had made me live when I had no desire to live. I had lost all earthly possessions and was faced with many difficult problems. But I had promised to read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy for fifteen minutes daily, and I did so. During that time, although I did not understand what I was reading, I was healed of a serious heart condition of long duration.

Today I can say that I am very grateful for that healing and for the blessings I have received since that time: for growth in patience, love, wisdom, understanding, and the overcoming of pride and criticism. One of our Christian Science lecturers once said that criticism is cruel self-righteousness, and this remark has been a great help to me. The spiritual gains stand out more clearly than the physical healings, although I have had many of those too.

For several years I had to wear glasses for reading; but I discarded them a few years ago, and now I often read for several hours daily, even fine print, without difficulty. Lost articles have been restored. Colds, severe nausea, headaches, accidents, and lack have been overcome.
