LETTERS TO THE PRESS FROM CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

St. Louis Post-Dispatch St. Louis, Missouri

In [a recent issue], a report of the formation of a new church carried this heading: "Interest Revived in Spiritual Healing."

The reported remarks of a speaker relating to the need for spiritual healing were appreciated. Also appreciated was the speaker's reference to the spiritual healing works accomplished by Christ Jesus.

But regrettably the speaker showed a misconception of the healing performed today by Christian Science when he said, "The legitimate healing ministry has no relation to Christian Science."

Of course, the speaker-minister is entitled to his opinion, but contrariwise, as a matter of record, the very reason for the establishment of the Church of Christ, Scientist, was to restore Christhealing to this age.

That this church is in some measure fulfilling its avowed purpose is shown by its growth in a comparatively short time to one of world-wide scope including some thirty-two hundred branches.
