I am very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for establishing the Christian Science Reading Rooms, because it was through a downtown Reading Room that I had my introduction to Christian Science in April, 1952. I am also grateful to the alert and patient librarians who explained something of this Science to me and told me that I could obtain more information from a practitioner. I was given a copy of The Christian Science Journal to take home so that I could select a practitioner from those listed in it. I did so, and from that moment on, I have had the happiest and most peaceful days of my life.

In the past six years I have had many healings. I have been permanently healed of the desire for cigars, which consisted of smoking from five to ten daily, and of habitual drinking that had started as a social custom with business associates. The healing of the drinking habit occurred in 1952, and it too has remained permanent.

Prior to my study of Science, vitalizing and sleeping pills had such a hold on me that I had become an addict, but I was healed in Christian Science.
