STAR OF CHRISTMAS

William Aubert Luce

Silver star, and east wind blowing,
Manger warmth and cattle lowing,
Sky song heralding a birth,
Bringing angel peace to earth.

Starlit shower of the ages
Falling over sacred pages;
West wind rising by the sea,
Science with the cherished key.

From one advent to the other,
Luminous on child and mother
Heaven's favor from above—
Star fire of immortal Love!
