JOY AVAILABLE TO ALL
The words of the angel to the shepherds that holy night so long ago (Luke 2:10), "Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people," have a profound meaning.
The "great joy, which shall be to all people," was, and is, more than the joyous announcement of the birth of a babe. It is the spiritual, uplifting joy which is born of the higher understanding of God and of man as His likeness, which Christ Jesus' appearing and life so beautifully portrayed.
From birth to ascension Jesus exemplified that Life which is God, Spirit, and which is higher than human life. His understanding of God as Love enabled him to bless his enemies and overcome hatred. He demonstrated the Christ, Truth, which heals sin and disease and comforts mankind. This Truth is the ever-appearing Christ, which brings great joy today as in Jesus' time and is the most important factor in commemorating Christmas.
