LET US BE WHOLESOME

In the Sermon on the Mount, Christ Jesus said to his followers (Matt. 5:14,16): "Ye are the light of the world....Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Let us ask ourselves: Am I letting my light shine? Does my appearance truly bear witness to what I know of God and Christian Science? Do I express health and freedom from fear and worry? Do I act like one who has a sound mind, bearing witness to my God-given dominion? Are my thoughts clean and pure? In short, am I expressing genuine wholesomeness?

Man, the true, spiritual image or idea of God, expresses wholeness, soundness, health, purity, and general well-being. This is a spiritual fact, because according to the Bible, man is the reflection or likeness of God. God is eternal Life, all-knowing Mind, the source of all good. God does not know or include evil. He is absolute perfection. How, then, could the image of perfect Being be less than wholesome in every aspect?
