Since Christian Science was first...
Since Christian Science was first presented to me during my school years, discord, ill-health, lack, and unhappiness have been eliminated through the conscientious application of the truth of God and of man, made in His likeness, as taught by our religion.
One of my earliest physical healings was a splendid lesson for a beginner in this study, inasmuch as it illustrated that any inharmonious condition is really mental and that the healing must first take place in human consciousness before it takes effect in a physical body.
One Sunday morning, during an unusually cold eastern winter, I awakened with an attack of influenza so severe that it was difficult for me to stand. To attend church seemed impossible. However, with great effort I managed to reach the church, although I was most uncomfortable as the service began.
