When I began the study of Christian Science, a bright, new world opened for me. At that time I was in great need of physical healing. Medical doctors had declared that a heart condition would necessitate a curtailment of many normal activities and that possibly I was facing a life of semi-invalidism. I was crushed and despondent at this verdict; for I was still a young woman with a husband and two teen-age children, and I felt there was still much for me to do and much to live for.

In this extremity a dear friend seeing my need presented Christian Science to me and explained lovingly how it could help me. I knew immediately that it was the answer to my prayer of many years for a practical religion.

My husband, who had listened to the friend's explanation, went the very next day to a Christian Science Reading Room and purchased the Bible, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the Christian Science Quarterly. I read many hours a day, drinking in all the wonderful healing truths. I became more convinced each day that at last I had found the way.
