GOD BLESSES MAN

In the beginning God, divine Love, made man in His image and likeness, perfect, good, and complete. He never could, never has, and never will exclude man from His loving care. In Genesis (1:28) the recorder speaking of God's man, male and female, says, "God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

What, according to Christian Science, is the nature of the blessing wherewith God blesses man? He has imbued him with His substance, with His wisdom and love. He blesses man with His very essence, His infinite and eternal character. He blesses him with the reflection of the perfection of His being. Each good and pure quality existent in God is included in God's blessing to man.

It is evident that God confers upon that which He creates perfect well-being, happiness, and harmony. The more clearly one realizes that God only blesses man the more concordant is one's human experience. To realize that God blesses man with health operates in one's thoughts as a power of elimination to the false belief that man can be sick or die.
