Fort Worth Star-Telegram

Fort Worth, Texas (Second Church).

Dedication services will be held this Sunday in Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Fort Worth, Texas, at 2112 Forest Park Boulevard at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. ...

The edifice, completed and occupied in February, 1949, is of colonial architecture in red brick and stone construction. ...

Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Fort Worth, had its beginning in April, 1922. Services were held in a downtown building until August of that year, when the church obtained property at Pennsylvania Avenue and South Adams Street, where services were held until February, 1949, when the congregation moved to the present site.

The church maintained a Christian Science Reading Room at the Pennsylvania Avenue and South Adams Street location until September, 1942, when it was moved downtown to the W.T. Waggoner Building. This location was closed in 1950, when the church united with other local branches of the denomination in establishing a ground-floor Reading Room at 504-B Main Street, which is still maintained. In May, 1955, Second Church opened a Reading Room at 3057 University Drive, South.
