I was introduced to Christian Science by a dear friend who was a guest in my home one week end. I was telling her of my wish to take a university course that fall and of my need for funds. I also told her of my efforts to sell the house in which I was living and of my wish to purchase another at the same time. She advised me to go to a Christian Science Reading Room and get a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

This I did, and I also went to a Christian Science practitioner to learn more about this Science. As soon as I had read the Preface and the chapter on Prayer in the textbook, I knew that Science was what I had been searching for.

In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy says (p. 167), "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." It was my privilege to prove this just after I had begun to study the Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly.
