Putting into practice the simple truths learned in the Christian Science Sunday School has always been helpful to me, whether in the classroom or at the office. I have also had proof that Christian Science, correctly applied, brings the healing of severe illnesses.

Every time I have humbly and prayerfully turned to God, I have found that He is "a very present help in trouble" (Ps. 46:1). Among the numerous demonstrations of God's love there are a few which I should like to relate. During the war I was in a province some distance from my home. Solely through absent treatment given by a Christian Science practitioner, I was healed of an inflammatory condition of the mouth.

In 1948, I suddenly felt very fatigued and had to stop working. In accordance with the requirements of the place where I worked, I consulted a doctor in order to get a certificate enabling me to absent myself for a few days. After a complete examination the doctor said I had incipient pulmonary tuberculosis, and he directed me to take a rest at a preventorium in the mountains.
