I am indeed grateful to know...

I am indeed grateful to know that through the application of the truths taught in Christian Science our human problems can be answered. This was conclusively proved to me when my mother passed on.

Within the hour after her passing, I called a former Sunday School teacher who was in the public practice of Christian Science. She spoke to me of the inseparability of God and His idea, man, and reminded me that as an idea of God, my mother could not be separated from her creator.

She recalled to me Jesus' raising of Lazarus and the Master's instruction (John 11:44), "Loose him, and let him go." In other words, I had to know that my mother was an idea of God and was not confined in a material body, that she had not died out of a body into oblivion, but that she was continuing to express the completeness of God, Life. In two days I overcame all sense of loss and grief and knew that because, in truth, we are the children of God, both my mother and I are always in our proper places.
