HOW OFTEN DO YOU THINK ABOUT GOD?
How often do you think about God? was one of the questions asked some time ago in a survey on religion. The replies were varied. Many of those interviewed actually did not know when or how often they thought about God. Others replied that they thought about God more or less as a ritual, usually at night upon retiring, in the form of prayer.
A number stated that they naturally thought about God on Sundays while attending church services. Quite a few said that when they were in trouble or if they particularly wanted something, they prayed. But many of this latter group admitted that only during these times did they actually turn to God.
The writer, when preparing this article, thought that had this question been put to her before she knew of Christian Science, she would have perhaps given much the same answer as any one of those given above. Now she felt a surge of gratitude for her religion, for it had taught her how to pray unceasingly. She knew that she could now joyously answer that there is not a minute of the day that she is not conscious of God. This is the beauty of Christian Science.
