"Put up again thy sword into his place,"
Jesus admonished the impetuous one
Striking in vain defense.

"Thinkest thou that I cannot now
Pray to my Father,
And he shall presently give me
More than twelve legions of angels?"

Around and all about
God's legions hover,
A joyous, ministering heavenly host
Of pure, immortal thoughts,
Faithful to guard, to heal, to save.
We need not use the mortal sword—ever.
