In Genesis we read (1:31), "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." It therefore follows that any condition or circumstance that does not measure up to the standard of good is no more true than the belief that two times two are five.

In our study of Christian Science, we soon discover that it is erroneous thinking that objectifies itself upon the body; so it is of utmost importance that we obey Mrs. Eddy's advice given in Science and Health (p. 392), "Stand porter at the door of thought."

This counsel has been most helpful to me for a good many years. I question myself many times throughout each day, "Does what I'm thinking emanate from God, good?" If I cannot answer in the affirmative, the quicker I cast the wrong thought out, the better. And to the extent that I succeed in rejecting error, the results are harmonious.
