NOTHING IN THE OPPOSITE SCALE

For centuries mankind has engaged in the struggle against evil in its various guises, but often this contest has been a losing one because of the ignorant and generally accepted belief that the error to be vanquished is factual, a real force in opposition to God, or good.

The teaching of Christian Science is wonderfully liberating: that in reality God is the only power and that there is actually nothing in the opposite scale! Anything ungodlike that appears to exist is merely suppositional. This fact is the great truth shining throughout Mary Baker Eddy's writings and is indeed the teaching of the promised Comforter.

Since God, Truth, is infinite, absolutely All, then He can have no real opposite or opponent. If we acknowledge Him as the Supreme Ruler of the universe, then we see that He can never be dethroned or superseded by any other so-called power.
