THE IMMORTAL DEFINITION OF BEING

When God called Moses to lead Israel out of bondage to Pharaoh in Egypt, He said (Ex. 3:14), "I AM THAT I AM"; and He added in emphasis, "Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you."

God is capable of accurate description, definition, and interpretation only by Himself. God's creation expresses Him and evidences His nature, but God alone defines what He and His creation are. God said to Moses, "I AM," thus indicating that He is All, the one Being, the only Ego.

The Christian Scientist is learning through an earnest study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the other writings of Mrs. Eddy to give full recognition to God's affirmation or statement concerning true being. He accepts the inspired Scriptural names for God and adds to those names others which are necessarily implied in the Bible.
