I should like to relate my first healing in Christian Science. This Science was brought to me by a very dear friend when I was in the depths of despair. I had suffered quite a long time from what I believed to be symptoms of cancer, from which other members of my family had passed on. I had a great fear concerning this condition, and it became worse after our fifth child was born. In addition, my husband was unemployed.

My friend invited me to go with her to a Wednesday testimony meeting, and although I did not understand her religion, I went with her several times.

I did not call upon a doctor because I was afraid he would pronounce the difficulty to be what I so much dreaded. Instead, I thought about the testimonies I had heard at the Wednesday evening meetings, and it occurred to me that if Christian Science could heal those people who had given testimonies, then it could heal me.
