TRUE TESTIMONY
When a person appears in court to give testimony, he must swear to tell the truth before he is allowed to take the witness stand. In our human experience we may testify many times daily about ourselves or others, and frequently such testimony is concerned with what appears to be sickness, pain, lack, or some other inharmonious condition.
We may believe that such testimony is true, but if we do believe it, we are really admitting false evidence concerning ourselves and mankind. Such testimony is concerned only with the human mind and the physical body, but that mind and body do not comprise the real you or me because God, the Father and creator of the universe, including man, never made material, mortal man.
Mary Baker Eddy makes it plain in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" that man is subject only to divine Mind. She further points out that the material and mortal body or mind is not the real man. Therefore we must know that man is not and never can be material, because he is made in the image and likeness of God, Spirit, as the Bible affirms.
