So much help and encouragement...
So much help and encouragement have come to me from the testimonies published in our literature that I am impelled to add my contribution in heartfelt gratitude.
For years previous to becoming a student of Christian Science, I suffered each spring with recurrent attacks of nervous prostration, for which I was treated by an eminent physician. In addition to this treatment, much time and money were spent at resorts in hope of regaining my health.
Finally realizing that like the woman in the Bible, I "was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse" (Mark 5:26), I left the doctor's office one day in desperation. While I was returning home on the subway, the angel thought came to me, "Why not try Christian Science?" That thought held a gleam of hope for me, although at that time all I knew of Christian Science was that I had frequently passed a Reading Room on a main thoroughfare in our neighborhood.
