I became interested in Christian Science in 1909. At that time I was suffering from severe stomach trouble and was placed on a diet of bread and water. I had lost much weight, and the doctor told my husband that I might develop consumption.

A friend who had been healed by Christian Science called on me and brought me a copy of the Sentinel. I read and reread this copy. After a short time I felt encouraged to try to eat what was prepared for the family. I ate a hearty meal and suffered no pain or inconvenience. From that day to this I have eaten everything I wanted and have had no return of the trouble.

I began attending the Wednesday evening testimony meetings and received much good from the testimonies. Then I borrowed the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, from the Reading Room and began the study of the weekly Lesson-Sermons, found in the Christian Science Quarterly.
