RADIO PROGRAM No. 246 - Finding Ourselves

Speaker: There's a great deal of encouragement in the experience our guest will tell about today, especially for those who would like to find freedom from traits of character and habits that stand in the way of progress and happiness. I'd like you to meet Edwin Johnson, of Baltimore, Maryland. He'll tell you his experience now.

Mr. Johnson: In 1949 I seemed to be at the crossroads. I'd been drinking heavily, and I'd lost my business. I'd had a franchise for a line of construction tools and distributed them in about four states. But due to the life I was living, I wasn't paying enough attention to the business, and the company canceled my franchise. In addition, my home relations were at a breaking point, and my wife was about to leave me.

Before going into the tool business, I spent ten years as a wine and liquor salesman and felt I had to drink to get business. It just never occurred to me to give it up, because I thought I was doing the right thing. But when I lost the tool franchise, it awakened me to the need for changing my way of life.
