On October 28, 1922, my first...

On October 28, 1922, my first testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel. As I look back over the intervening years I find I again have many things for which to be grateful.

One was the healing of a severe bruise on the back of my hand, the result of an accident. The pain ceased almost instantly when I realized the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words in Science and Health (p. 424), "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection."

After the discoloration had disappeared, however, the hand remained cold. One day I read of a healing in one of the articles in an issue of The Christian Science Journal. The writer, when a boy, had an unpleasant experience in which several of his fingers were affected. Not being at that time a student of Christian Science, he accepted not only the accident as real but also the verdict of the doctor that he would always have trouble in keeping the fingers warm, since the circulation had been injured. Twenty years later, when through Christian Science he learned of the spiritual status of the real man, he was freed from this condition.
