My introduction to Christian Science...

My introduction to Christian Science came over thirty years ago when I began teaching school. A teacher who boarded where I was boarding was a student of this Science. I had always loved the Bible and was deeply religious, having been raised by a devout Christian grandfather, who lived the precepts of Christianity. As my new friend gently presented the teachings of Christian Science to me, I gradually realized that they are in accord with the same Bible truths that I had loved so long.

Two years later I was relieved of my position because my work had been unsatisfactory. This was a great blow to me. As I was weeping over it, my friend came by, and I poured out my grief to her. I shall always remember her words, "Well, dear, this may prove to be an angel entertained unawares." This thought aroused me to cease lamenting and take steps to seek another position.

The first superintendent I met in the very next town hired me at a salary much higher than the one I would have received from the former position. The new atmosphere was much more desirable and the conditions more pleasant in every way. Moreover, my teaching became successful and joyous.
