I feel it is time that I express my gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has brought into my life. As a child I was intensely shy and at times feared to meet even people whom I knew well. Soon after I turned to Science and realized a little of God's love for His children, this condition disappeared, although I do not remember exactly when.

Another great fear was that of responsibility, and because of this fear, I dreaded growing up. However, I have had to assume great responsibility, and through the help of Christian Science I have been able to do so without strain. It has given me such a wonderful sense of freedom to realize that I can do nothing of myself, but that in reality I reflect the dominion of divine Mind.

I have had many physical healings. One was of a serious ear condition. Several years later, during the early part of the Second World War, I developed a severe case of measles. In order to comply with the law, a doctor had to be called. However, he knew that I was a Christian Scientist; so he did not insist on any material remedies, although I had to be quarantined.
