On page 266 of Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy quotes the statement, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity." This has indeed been proved in my experience. Christian Science, the beautiful religion of Love, was presented to me more than ten years ago.

For several years I had been in great mental distress as the result of a nervous condition, and fears of all kinds presented themselves to me in a most terrifying manner. I daily and hourly prayed to have a better understanding of God. Having given up hope in medical doctors and chiropractors, I longed to be healed in the way that Jesus healed. Often I thought that self-destruction was the only way out of my difficulties.

One day a friend saw my need of help. He said: "Why don't you try Christian Science? I was blind and was healed by this Science after all other methods had failed." This was a ray of hope to me, and several hours later I found myself in the office of a practitioner. I had a conviction that my long search to know God was over.
