My introduction to Christian Science came when I attended a Thanksgiving Day service of a Church of Christ, Scientist, at the invitation of a friend. I was greatly impressed by the number of grateful people who waited their turn to testify to the healings they had experienced from the application of Christian Science.

Just before that time I had had an operation for the correction of an intestinal difficulty. Since I was no better after the operation, I had become quite discouraged. My hope was renewed at that Thanksgiving Day service.

I began attending Christian Science church services, studying the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, and reading the periodicals. A friend encouraged me to visit a practitioner, and during this visit I experienced an instantaneous healing of the intestinal trouble.
