"THE SECRET PLACE"
"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty" (Ps. 91:1).
A friend, after a prolonged period of close study and diligent application of Christian Science, exclaimed: "Deep down within me, instead of excitement and clamor, there is a sense of peace, of stillness, of satisfaction. Can this be what the Psalmist referred to as 'the secret place of the most High ... the shadow of the Almighty'?"
Where else could such a sense of absolute contentment and joy be found? It could not possibly come from mortal mind, which has nothing to offer but disturbance, excitement, and an assortment of difficulties.
