I have had so many proofs of the healing and protecting power of Christian Science that I should like to write of some of them.

Toward the close of a summer vacation I awoke one morning in great pain and could not walk. A Christian Scientist in my home, seeing my need for help, lovingly offered it. Later she told me that the thought had come to her that this condition was just a suggestion of mortal mind to keep me from going back to my work as a schoolteacher in a few days; but she realized that man, God's spiritual idea, is always about his Father's business.

I felt the need for studying the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, but before I had time to open a book this thought from the Bible came to me (Mark 2: 9): "Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk." I obeyed the command to arise, and when I did so I found myself free. "I can walk!" I shouted, and to prove my newfound freedom, I did some chores around the house.
