Church Dedications

Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

Annapolis, Maryland (First Church).

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Annapolis, Maryland, is once again dedicating a church edifice.

The need for rededication arises from the manner in which the Christian Science movement has grown into the life of the community since it was first presented to the public here ... in 1909. At that time a naval officer serving at the Naval Academy, and his wife, invited a few friends to attend Sunday readings of the Christian Science Lesson–Sermons [outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly] in their home.
