I am very grateful for the help that Christian Science has been to me in the rearing of my two daughters. Three years ago, during a compulsory cleanliness inspection at school, my elder child was told that she had enlarged tonsils and was advised to have them removed. Upon being told of this, I started to work prayerfully in Christian Science, as we are taught to do, but at the next inspection the same remark was made. I called a Christian Science practitioner who worked faithfully for some time, and I continued to declare that God's child is perfect in every detail.

After a time the inspections ceased to call forth remarks, and the work was stopped. Later, when the child was about to leave that school, I had to take her to the school doctor, who asked me if she had had her tonsils removed. I answered in the negative, mentally declaring that the child was in reality the image and likeness of God. The doctor proceeded to examine her throat and remarked that all was well and that there was nothing to worry about with regard to the tonsils.

Mrs. Eddy tells us on page 167 of Science and Health, "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." I felt that we had proved that statement.
