Since my first instruction in a Christian Science Sunday School at the age of four, I have witnessed many proofs of the power of prayer to heal. My parents were not interested in this Science; so the practical understanding that I gained as a child came primarily through the Sunday School teaching. I learned to love God and to rely upon my understanding of Him, as taught in Christian Science, for my every need.

During my childhood I was healed of athlete's foot by knowing the truth each night until I fell asleep. Twelve years later my husband received a healing of the same condition through his grateful acknowledgment of the complete and permanent healing I had experienced. I am extremely grateful for a happy home. The fact that my husband loves Christian Science as I do is a stabilizing influence in our family life. This religion has been an invaluable aid in rearing our three children, who are now enjoying the privilege of attending Sunday School.

Early in my experience as a mother, I learned that, as Mary Baker Eddy says in regard to Christian healing (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 370), "This is the babe we are to cherish." Our oldest child contracted pneumonia when quite young. At one time he appeared to be passing on. During this time we had the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner.
