CHRISTIAN SCIENCE AND THE SERVICEMAN

Christian Science is deserving of much consecrated thought by the serviceman. This is true, because it is a more practical, present, and infallible aid than material weapons, armor, or training. An understanding and a demonstration of this Science enable the serviceman to have a successful and fruitful experience. They guide him into the proper fields of work, where his capabilities may be utilized and expanded. They destroy fear and a false sense of responsibility. They strengthen and support his stand against demoralizing suggestions and heal him of sickness.

All Scientists in the armed services have the same basic truths to understand and demonstrate. Each one has the opportunity to make God's law practical in his own experience, be it in a front line bunker or a training camp, on a combat air mission or a routine practice flight, on a ship in hostile waters or in a friendly port.

Christ Jesus demonstrated God's tender, protecting care in his daily experience. When he was attacked by an angry mob, he was able to walk through their midst unmolested. While crossing a storm-tossed sea, he rested in the peaceful consciousness of his oneness, or unity, with the Father, and then he rebuked and silenced the storm. When confronted with sickness and disease, he healed those who came to him seeking aid. What wonderful lessons for the serviceman!
