Activities for the Armed Services
Mississippi
At a large Air Force base in Mississippi a Christian Science Chaplain and a Christian Science Representative in the Armed Services are stationed. These men work together closely. In their efforts to meet the needs of Christian Science service personnel, they emphasize the importance of regular attendance at the Christian Science services held on the base and of budgeting time so that authorized Christian Science literature may be read daily.
The Representative, a young officer in the Regular Air Force, had an opportunity to prove for himself the value of the foregoing advice. On a few hours' notice the Chaplain left on a Friday to attend a Senior Chaplains' conference at a distant base. The Representative, a navigator and electronics counter-measure officer, had an important electronics examination scheduled for the following Monday and had expected to spend every free moment of the week end preparing for it.
