MERCY
How
blessed to receive
A brother's mercy toward some blunder
Of one's own, regretted poignantly.
And then again,
How blest a state of consciousness,
The feeling merciful,
Seeing all mortal frailty
For what it is, illusion.
Mercy is an attribute of God.
The merciful are blest,
Obtaining heaven's mercy.
