I am grateful to say that I was...

I am grateful to say that I was raised in Christian Science and had the opportunity of attending Sunday School. During the Second World War, I spent several years in the Army. Although I consider the experience one of the most enjoyable I have had, there were many problems to be met.

When I first left home I was sent three thousand miles away, and I was homesick. I had to take a number of inoculations as everyone was required to do, and also there was the problem of the kind of work I would be asked to do. These and many other situations were met by my turning completely to God as we are taught to do in Christian Science.

I received help from the Christian Science Wartime Ministers, as these workers were then known, who were available in every place where I was stationed. I am especially grateful for the work that was done then and is being done now by the Christian Science Ministers for the Armed Services.
