RADIO PROGRAM No. 190 - What God Does for Man

Speaker: To begin our discussion of what God does for man, I am going to ask our guest to tell us of two personal experiences. On both occasions, she faced a serious emergency and had convincing proof of God's ever-presence and help. Our guest is Mrs. Aylein Brashears of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Mrs. Brashears: One summer, my twelve-year-old daughter, Nancy, was so ill that she was confined to her bed and soon became paralyzed from the waist down. I immediately asked a Christian Science practitioner to give her treatment through prayer. My husband became quite fearful over the child's condition. He was not a Christian Scientist; so he called a physician to examine her. After a thorough medical examination, the condition was pronounced rheumatic fever. I was told that it might be two years before she would walk freely again.

I had been brought up in Christian Science and had experienced many healings; so it was natural for me not to accept that diagnosis as final. I had always thought of God as my loving Father-Mother. I knew from my study of Christian Science that my daughter also was in reality God's child and that I could trust her to God's care.
