Many years ago an experienced Christian Scientist who was helping me to gain a right sense of place referred me to this promise from the Bible (Ex. 23:20): "Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared." During the intervening years this promise has been fulfilled in my experience, and I am most grateful for the guidance Christian Science has given me in many problems relating to right place in home and business.

During the years of World War II, when I was living and working in a district of London where enemy action was very severe, the support of the teachings of Christian Science enabled me to stay in the district and carry out my duties. Wonderful protection was experienced many times. On one occasion the house in which I was living was partially wrecked, but not one of the residents was injured. The room in which I was sleeping was smothered in debris, with the exception of the spot where I was. I am most grateful for the kindness and love shown me by fellow Christian Scientists at that time. It is indeed an unspeakable blessing to have the teachings of this Science to guide us, and for all I am learning of the true nature of God and man, I am deeply grateful.

On page 76 of Science and Health our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, writes, "The sinless joy,—the perfect harmony and immortality of Life, possessing unlimited divine beauty and goodness without a single bodily pleasure or pain-constitutes the only veritable, indestructible man, whose being is spiritual." This statement has given me great help and enlightenment.
