In May, 1955, an editorial entitled "The Argument of Christian Science" appeared in The Christian Science journal. I devoted much time and thought to this editorial. One morning as I carried some miscellaneous articles to the basement for disposal, one of my fingers was cut by the lid of an open tin can. Instantly I was reminded of the message in the editorial.

To mortal sense, my finger was freely bleeding. However, I realized that I must grasp the vast difference between the unreality of the mortal evidence and the reality of immortal Truth. As I washed my hands, I found myself thinking with much conviction that if this discordant condition were real, then it would continue throughout eternity. The bleeding stopped instantly. Only once that day did my thoughts return to the incident, and I did not look at my finger. Later, when I did look at it, there was not the slightest mark.

I am humbly grateful that I was obedient to the angel message to argue against the material evidence. I attribute my protection and many, many other events of benefit to the fact that much protective work is done at the beginning of each day. From this spiritualized mental activity, I am gaining the realization of man's relationship to God and an understanding of His laws, which govern the spiritual universe.—(Miss) Amy Ireland, Des Moines, Iowa.
