RADIO PROGRAM No. 185 - "Before they call, I will answer"

Speaker: How comforting it is to know that God is always with us; that we can always depend upon His ever-present power and goodness in time of need. Today's guest had a remarkable proof of this, after her little daughter was severely attacked by a nest of hornets. I'd like to introduce Mrs. Jane Blackwell of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who will tell us of this experience.

Mrs. Blackwell: One hot summer afternoon I took our younger daughter, who was three years old at the time, and went out to the country to visit some friends. As we got out of the car she spied a rubber wading pool around on the other side of the house. I saw her go toward it; I knew she loved to splash around in it. So I went on into the house, but just as I got to the door, I heard her scream. I ran to where she was and found that she was completely covered with hornets. The pool didn't have any water in it. It turned out that my friend's husband, unknown to her, had thrown it over a hornet's nest as he went off to work that morning, in an effort to drive them away.

I carried our daughter into the house and found there was hardly an inch of her little body that was free from their stings. As I took off her sun suit, the hornets that had stung her kept falling out of her clothes until the floor was littered with dead hornets.
