I began the study of Christian Science, not for physical healing, but for much-needed moral courage to help me overcome inharmony in human relationships. My parents had studied Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy for many years, and I had known of many healings, but it took this extremity in my own case to make me want to dig deeper and put the rules of Christian Science into practice for myself. I am glad to say that through my application of these scientific rules the inharmony was overcome.

I should like to tell of a healing of my seven-year-old daughter about a year after my earnest study of Christian Science began. One day the girl came home from school and spoke of soreness in one groin. Instead of handling and destroying the erroneous thought which was causing the child discomfort, I neglected to do anything about it.

In a few days a painful lump appeared. The girl could not walk and had to remain in bed. I decided to rely on the teachings of Christian Science and read to my daughter from the Bible and the Christian Science literature. She kept cheerful and had no fear whatsoever, and neither had I.
